A Smooth Sea Never Made a Skilled Sailor
This hand lettered design is printed on an ultra cozy, multi-fabric blend that gives the shirt a sweet vintage appearance. These black, tri-blend American Apparel shirts are made from part cotton, polyester, and rayon to result in a ridiculously comfortable shirt than retains elasticity, giving a fitted look. For this reason, sizes tend to run a bit small, so if you’re not into the fitted look, go for a size bigger than normal. They’re unisex too, so they look great on everyone.
The lettering is printed using a clear discharge ink. This essentially pulls the color out of the shirt to create the image. With this method, you don’t have the familiar thickness of Plastisol prints where the ink sits on top of the shirt fabric. After an initial wash, you won’t even be able to feel the design at all. Super nice.
All my favorite shirts are tagless, so I make sure the ones I produce are tagless as well. Instead of standard tags, the neck tag design is printed directly on the fabric using the same discharge ink.
