It’s Sunday. You have time to create, but eh… it’s the weekend.
You’re chill right now. It’s lazy. You’ve got the whole week ahead of you. You can always start tomorrow, right? Monday. Yeah, Monday sounds good. You’ll start tomorrow.
“I’ll create something new tomorrow.”
- I’ll do it when my new pens come in.
- I’ll make something when I have inspiration.
- I’ll start when Sean’s classes launch on July 27th.
- I’ll share my creations once I know I’m “good enough.”
I want to stop you right there. Tomorrow never comes. If you don’t do it today, you’re wasting your time.
There is today and there is never.
Tomorrow is never.
Do you really care about this? Prove it to yourself by taking action. Everyone says January 1st they’ll start working out or that they’ll start their side project on Monday. Everyone says tomorrow. It’s today or never.
Make One Thing Today
This is my call to action for you. I want you to make one thing today. Draw something. Create something. Make something.
Not tomorrow. Today.
I want to see if you’re really willing to take action. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be today.
If you’re up for the challenge, here’s what I want you to do:
- Make something.
- Post it on Instagram and tag it #makeonethingtoday
- Check out the hashtag on Instagram to see what others have made: #makeonethingtoday (only after you’ve made something—it has to be new, no tagging old photos!)
Refrain from looking at the hashtag until you’ve made something! I know it’s tempting to see what other people have made, but let it be your reward.
Yes, I’m giving you access to the Learn Lettering 2.0 Starter Class because you’re subscribed, but you’ll still need to put in the practice! I want you prove to yourself that you’re going to take action!
It does no good to just consume. You have to put pen to paper.
Will you do it? Will you set aside the phone? Will you close the Facebook tab? Will you resist the urge to check your feeds? Will you get up off the couch and create something today?
I look forward to seeing what you make (yes, I’ll be watching the hashtag)!
