The less mature version of me 10 years ago would view those who did similar things as my competition. I believed it was a zero sum game.
They were my competitors, and I had to win. Either I got the business and attention or they did. That made them the enemy.
It took me years to learn if you see everyone as competition, you’ll never have community. The difference between competition and community is mostly perspective.
If you isolate yourself from people who do similar work, you rob yourself of potential growth and partnerships. Reach out to those who are on the same level doing similar things. Grow together and let collaboration build both of you up.
