Yesterday, I talked about growing your business from six figures to seven figures. Today, I want to share how you can double your revenue no matter where you’re at.
To get to the next level, you have to break through certain mental blocks you have. At each level, the mental blocks are different.
What grows your business now isn’t going to be the thing that grows your business later.
Your default is to plateau. Stagnation is what will happen automatically. You have to be vigilant.
It’s like rock climbing. Every ledge you encounter is different. The maneuver that just worked to pull you up the last five feet isn’t going to be what gets you the next five.
You have to constantly be learning.
Yesterday’s episode was specifically about growing your business from six figures to seven figures. Not all of those things are going to apply to you and where you’re at. But one of them might.
Do More of What Works
At some point, something was working for you. Something went well for you. Yet for some reason, you stopped doing it.
Don’t feel bad, most of us do this. It’s Shiny Object Syndrome. Something is working for us, but we get distracted by something new.
The problem is, you’re leaving money on the table. I guarantee you did not exhaust that last resource. There is so much more left to tap.
I talk about focus a lot, but that’s because it’s the most important thing. Focus on a single thing. Your split focus is killing you. The reason you aren’t making more is because your focus is split. You’re trying to do too many things. If you want to double your revenue, do more of what works.
Double down on what’s working.
You can be focusing on a lot of good things and still not get anything done. Are you hearing me? The many, many things you’re focusing on may be great, but you’re not going to see any results because you’re doing too much.
Something was working for you in the past. Something made you money. What was that thing? Identify it and go back and do more of it.
In my case, it was lettering. Not specifically doing lettering for clients, although I did make money with client work, but more specifically teaching lettering.
My first course, Learn Lettering, made six figures in the first three days of launching. What had I done since then? I shifted my focus and started doing different things. Yet, the interest in hand lettering continued to grow!
I had dozens of people still signing up every day, wanting to learn more about lettering. So what did I do? I produced a wholly new version of my course: Learn Lettering 2.0.
It made $177,000 at the launch.
What would you do with an extra $177,000? Certainly there was a lot involved with that launch and I share all of the details in this podcast, but the point is I did more of what had worked for me in the past and I saw results.
Find what was working for you and do more of it.
It’s really simple, but if you really take hold of this and apply it, you will see results. Actually, I’d love to hear from you if you do. Take this advice, apply it, and share the results with me. I don’t care if it’s a month or years in the future, I’d love to hear from you.
