Entrepreneurship is always going to have you in a place where you feel uncertain and that’s just the truth. You’re going to feel uncertain as an entrepreneur.

Maybe right now you’re in a day job and you’re thinking about quitting, but you really don’t want to leave the security of the day job. Well, there’s no such thing as job security.

There’s no such thing as job security no matter where you work, no matter what company, no matter how secure it seems—not even if you work for yourself!

The thing about being an entrepreneur is you can actually see how unstable things are.

I’ve been running my own business for 10 years now and I still feel uncertain. I’m just being honest with you. There’s still always that feeling of uncertainty. You never know things.

Anything can happen at any moment, it’s just more obvious when you’re an entrepreneur.

When you work for a company, you can feel like you’re secure. There’s a facade of job security because it’s not your responsibility to worry about whether or not the company will be in business.

The reality that things are uncertain is always there even when you work for another company.

You may be hesitating right now, waiting for the perfect moment to take the leap and start out on your own, but there’s always going to be uncertainty.

It’s never going to be a seamless transition. It’s always going to come down to a leap of faith moment. The uncertainty never goes away. I don’t say that to scare you; it can be a fearful thing or something that we’re apprehensive about.

I say that to you so you know even when you quit, even when you start your own thing, or even if you’ve been running your own business for several years, the uncertainty is never going to go away.

You scale, you grow, you hire more people—even if you just work for yourself, there’s always times where you feel uncertain.

Even if you have enough money to cover your bills for the next year, or the next three years, you’re still wondering.

If you have enough money to cover your bills for three whole years, you’re still thinking, “What happens after the three years?”

On the one hand, it can be kind of scary, but on the other hand I want you to know that’s just a part of life, business, and doing work.

Don’t let the uncertainty hold you back from going after what you want.

It’s always going to be there, it’s always something that you deal with, so why not take that leap? Why not take that jump? Why not go after what you want? Because it’s always going to come down to a leap of faith moment.
